ESG Portfolios… Just for you!
What is Socially Responsible Investing?
SRI is a subset of a broader category of investing which falls under the principles of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) investing. The intention of this format of investing is to reduce or minimize the potential to invest in companies whose business nature or principles may be considered controversial. While certain aspects of ESG investing have been practiced for many years, it has typically been reserved for large institutional investors and not the average retail investor… until recently!
The concept of being “socially responsible” is somewhat subjective, and the providers of socially responsible investment options can have extremely different definitions of what they believe constitutes socially responsible investment principles.
